Vitamin B1 (Thiamine)

Thiamin is found in many types of food (liver, nuts, peas, bananas, oranges...).
Thiamin cannot be stored in the body, so you need it in your diet every day.

The Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA):
- for men ages 19 and older is 1,2mg daily, and for women in the same age range 1,1mg daily,
- for pregnancy and lactation, the amount increases to 1,4mg daily

A Tolerable Upper Intake Level (UL) is the maximum daily dose unlikely to cause adverse side effects in the general population. There is no UL for thiamin due to a lack of reports showing negative effects from high thiamin intakes.
